Zlatko is Slovenian but lives with his elderly mother on the Croatian side of the river, which has no access road. To get anything or go anywhere, he has to take his boat to the other side. As he lives on an isolated piece of Croatian land, surrounded by forests and right next to the river, his garden has become the last piece of land that some migrants cross before attempting to cross the river and enter the EU. For this reason, Zlatko’s only means of connection to the rest of the world – his boat – is often stolen by migrants. The situation is becoming increasingly annoying.

After the filming, the authorities put up a fence with a lock and a razor wire on the Slovenian side, so now every time he moves from his home, he has to call the police to open the fence.
